In order to provide sound, scientific horticultural advice and proper installation, today’s landscape professional must be knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects including plant identification, plant usage, plant health, soils, turfgrass management, use of pesticides, construction techniques, design, sales and more.
The MCLP program is designed to test the skills and knowledge of the landscape professional; to have this achievement and professional designation recognized in the eyes of the public and the green industry; and to provide a means of continuing education for the certified professional.
