What it means to be “green” in the landscape industry is more than just using organics and composting. It’s proper use of cultural practices, installing irrigation systems with rain and weather sensors so water is not wasted, using native plants in designing new landscapes. Choosing to use a permeable pavement product such as pavers, or natural stone bases rather than asphalt or solid concrete for driveways and walkways are also considered a green choice.
